I had plans to visit my brother & 2 yr old granddaughter this morning. After my shower, I let the boys out to run while I blow-dried my hair. My hair is short so it doesn't take me but a few minutes to do. As I was walking to the backdoor to let the boys back iside, I saw Greyson tossing a "toy" over his back and then pouncing on it, with Carson trying to take it from him. "Aww, how cute" I was thinking until realizing we don't have any black& white toys!!! I burst out of the backdoor to see a baby skunk go flying about 3 feet with Carson is hot pursuit. I was calling frantically to each boy "come". and clapping my hands, and threw in a "leave it" too just for good measure. Greyson responded immediately, but Carson was relunctant to leave this new toy that he had found! He start towards me, then turn and go backs towards the "toy", and back towards me, etc. That bought the baby skunk time to get away.

Now, ourbackyard and house smell like skunk, but we were lucky. I guess baby skunks don't really spray or at least their aim is bad. The boys muzzles smell like a cross between diluted skunk and garlic (crazy huh). They both got a bath in tomato sauce to start. I called the vet and after they got thru laughing, said to use Dawn first as it will break up the oils.

I went out and looked around the backyard, so guess the baby got away. Except for a tuft of back & white fur I found! Hopefully, the reception he got will make him think twice before coming back here. lol.gif

Ha ha ha ha. Thanks for the laugh. That is too funny, but I bet you were frantic for the "little stinker" to get away and leave your yard. I'm glad we don't have skunks around here - the occasional opossum and lots of raccoons, but, so far, no skunks.
