We were throwing an Aerobe for Gracie at the neighborhood park the other day, and she was running after it and catching it pretty well until she spotted some low fying swallows skimming over the grass. She immediately stopped chasing the aerobe and went after the swallows! I guess she figured that live prey is much more fun to chase than a silly old toy. The swallows are actually good trainers for lure coursing. They fly low over the grass and zig zag around until the dog gets close, then they fly upwards so the dog can't get them. Such fun!

That sounds like fun! At least the swallows can get away from their hunters!

How fun for Gracie! I love it when my boys can chase something and I have the opportunity to watch their beauty and grace.

Mine like to chase the Killdeer in our park area. Those birds are crazy. They get so close and lure the dogs in and they run before flying away. I swear one of these days the dogs will catch one!
