The March 2008 newsletter is almost ready and it's a special edition! March is Support Whippet Rescue Month at WhippetTalk. We are going to have various Fundraising events throughout the month with contests, auctions and raffles. We have two great stories featured on rescue whippets as well as our March Featured Whippet - soon to be announced! So get your final photos in for the contest. You have until tomorrow, Wednesday, February 27th!

So far we have donations for collars, jammies and digital a portrait. If you make something and would like to donate, please PM me.

Tell me more about the WRAP fundraiser.......please? I don't have very many whippet necklaces made up, but depending on when the fundraiser is (and what kind of fundraiser it is), I may be able to donate something.

Remember last year when we had the portrait marathon and Billie made up digital portraits for people who wanted them? We raised $300 and it was donated via PayPal directly to WRAP. This year, we are expanding our offerings to various items to try to beat that $300 donation! WRAP is not sponsoring it. It's something I am doing on my own to try to raise the money via the Board to make a donation on behalf of WhippetTalk and it's members to WRAP. That way, even if one person can only donate $1, as a whole, we could donate a much larger amount as a community. And as a community, we can raise awareness that WRAP exists and assists whippets in need. Either with donations or with foster homes or eventually, adoption.

Do you have details of the fundraiser.....date, time, place, etc? Will the auctions be run on ebay, here, or somewhere else? Details, details!!! Another friend also does necklaces so I can see if she could donate too.

The Auctions will run on our own Auction site called Sighthound Auctions. The raffles will run throughout March here on the board starting as soon as I get something to raffle and until we run out of stuff to raffle.

Will we be able to make a donation without participating in any of the other activities? I will probably do the raffles, but I may want to give more depending on how much the raffles are.

I'll have a lot of ways to get money to WRAP in March. From outright donations to raffles and such. Patience grasshopper. I'm working on receipts that will automatically be emailed to you after donations and raffles with the WRAP information on them so you can get your tax deduction.
